This book cover concept was developed for an Amazon Kindle publication. David Wallen wrote the the Sci-Fi novel. The story revolves around a young man that is chosen to represent the human race in a test of intelligence and skill. Our protagonist can be seen in front of the space-ship that he will have to learn to fly to prove his worth. It is interesting to note that the alien space-ship is actually a photo of the ceiling of a cargo aeroplane flipped upside down. The coldness of space is inferred by the dominant blue overtones. The protagonist’s pink skin is set to contrast against the blue background and so help him to stand out. Notice how curves are repeatedly used in this composition to draw attention to the focus point which just happens to be the face of the young man.
